A huge thank you to Theo Venter for recently spending time with our crews and leaders at Nitschke Energy. Theo’s story, message and delivery were incredibly powerful - raw, emotional, honest and spoken straight from the heart. You could feel the room fully engaged from start to finish, and the feedback from our teams has been overwhelmingly positive.

His six key lessons around personal accountability, trusting your gut, taking the time to pause, and understanding your “Why” really resonated with our people. While confronting at times, the session was also inspiring, uplifting and left everyone with something meaningful to take away. A big thank you also to Origin Energy for their support and involvement in the day. Theo’s message reinforced something important for all of us - safety is not just a procedure or policy… it’s personal.

I have come across many motivational speakers over the years, but Theo Venter's “Just Another Day” truly stands out. Surviving a devastating 22kV, 1200A electric shock is something very few could even imagine - yet you did far more than not only to survive, but rebuilding yourself from the ground up, physically, mentally, and professionally.

From pushing your limits in bodybuilding to boldly switching careers and embracing an entirely new chapter in life, your journey is a powerful reminder of human resilience and determination. Your story is not just about recovery; it’s about reinvention, courage, and refusing to be defined by a single moment of tragedy. You are a source of inspiration for anyone working in the field of electricity - and far beyond it. Hats off to you. Your story proves that even after the darkest day, it truly can be just another day to rise, rebuild, and move forward stronger than ever.

Thankyou Theo. You are and continue to be the inspiration I remember from those many years ago, you have impacted our team in a way that will be lasting and will inspire us to another level. EVERY person I spoke to on Friday mentioned you, “wow” your courage and commitment to such a key message is second to none in my view, you should be so proud.

Hi Theo, we briefly met today at FFI Hazelmere. I came and shook your hand after your session with us today. I can without reserve say that today you emotionally and motivational connected with me in a way I have never experienced after 30 years in the mining industry. Many aspects of your story triggered several similar major events in my life. The inspiration you provide, the humbleness you display, and the courage you empart, left me exhausted, reflective and emotional today. I have my nut and it will always be a reminder of how you have positively effected me today for the rest of my life, my trigger for my 5 seconds of strength. Thank you so much, you are an inspiration and would welcome any opportunity to meet you again, if not, know that people like me, are also here for you. Keep moving forward in life as you are with your wonderfull children. Thank you Theo.

Theo, I will second everything Steven has said. You really made an impact on our people. They will listen to their gut and continue to ask themselves if a short cut is really worth it, for a long time to come. Our Toolbox talks will reference your presentation and we will keep reminding them of the “nut” as it a simple reminder of what could happen. Thanks and hope to see you soon. PS managed to watch the Springboks and All blacks game from a few weeks ago over the weekend…….wow what a performance just before a world cup!!!

Theo is an incredible, passionate, and emotive speaker. You can plainly see that doing this is not easy on him as he re-lives some of his darkest days. I had big burly drillers admitting they were almost at tears during some portions of his presentation. He does it because he wants to make a difference. Theo made it his mission to go out and meet with our workers during lunch, to continue the conversations worth having. Afterwards talking to our team members there was only 1 highlight from the entire day we held – Theo’s talk.

Yesterday, we were fortunate to have Theo Venter come out to talk to our teams and what a day it was! … With a strong message of the importance of personal safety and the impact our everyday decisions can have on all those around us, there were so many takeaways from Theo’s talk. EVERY person I spoke to on Friday mentioned you, “wow” your courage and commitment to such a key message is second to none in my view, you should be so proud.

There was a plan crash in Nepal the other day, I believe it was a freak accident from some bad weather as it come in for landing, 80 people died and only a few survived. I know unlucky scenarios happen in life sometimes but I was frustrated at how quickly life can be over. I have been trying everyday to remind myself to enjoy life for every second I am alive. Sometimes we get caught up in the little things.
